The way employers hire is different now
It’s easy for a job posting to receive thousands of applications, and most of the time a resume is scanned by ATS (Applicant Tracking System) before a human ever sees the resume. ATA filters out most candidates automatically.
This means even the most qualified candidate can be declined early on.
Many times, clicking “Apply” isn’t enough.
Because public job listings are usually crowded, many applicants can increase their chances of landing the interview by bypassing job boards completely. Instead, they search for the direct job portal or company’s career page for the company they want to work for.
Whenever possible, applicants should also try to email the hiring manager directly. Their inbox won’t be ranked by keyword density, and a human will read or skim their message and decide in seconds.
Even after a positive correspondence with a hiring manager applicants should still formally submit their applications through the company’s career page for compliance reasons.
